Hello, and welcome to Our Blessed Hope: Thoughts on Imaginative Christian Literature. My name is Lynda, and in my free time I enjoy reading and writing, especially about Christ our Lord and the hope we have (Our Blessed Hope, Titus 2:13), and showing how great imaginative literature — especially that of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis — illustrates the great truths of the Gospel.
I work full-time at a large US company, in the IT department, as a “Scrum Master” team/project lead, and write this blog for personal enrichment, as an extension of my personal Bible and Literature Studies.
My previous blog was Scripture Thoughts. Here at this blog, I am expanding on the Bible/Scriptural knowledge I acquired during the years of writing there, to apply scriptural truths and precepts to the subjects of myth and sub-creation, as I return to my fiction loves of Middle Earth and Narnia.
I’m ALL IN – delighted for the comparison of Narnia to scripture. So very well done and thorough in your thinking. Many thanks! I am currently reading Finding God in Harry Potter – also excellent.
